Missouri measures how much students learn year-to-year using a growth model. The model is graded on a curve, meaning average growth is represented as 0 and in any given year, there will always be schools whose growth rates are above and below 0. The scatterplot below compares these growth rates to how fast proficiency rates are changing in districts.
