National Assessment Data
Updated Jan 2026The National Assessment of Educational Progress (NAEP) provides a consistent, nationwide measure of student performance in reading and math. Because it uses the same assessment framework in every state, NAEP allows Missouri’s results to be compared directly with peer states and national averages. Use the dashboards below to see where Missouri stands over time and how those results compare with other states, which is a helpful complement to the statewide and regional data shown elsewhere on this site.
Note that reading and math scores in grades 4 and 8 have a scale of 0 to 500.
